We are excited to announce the official commencement of the Mseve Girls and Women Empowerment Initiative in Benue State! After almost three years of relentless effort in promoting change and addressing issues related to menstrual hygiene, period poverty, and the empowerment of women and girls in various communities, we are eager to celebrate this important milestone with you. This launch signifies a new phase in our dedication and collaborative efforts to tackle period poverty and promote menstrual hygiene through Awareness, Accessibility, and Advocacy.
Event Highlights
Our launch event was a resounding success, featuring profound and insightful discussions that united community leaders, international partners, local CSOs, government officials, and supporters who align with our vision for a brighter future for women and girls. It also highlighted the importance of collaboration in reaching our shared objectives.
Key Moments from the Event:
Speech by our founder
In an engaging address, the founder of Mseve Women and Girls Empowerment Initiative articulated the vital necessity of empowering women and girls in Benue State. She brought attention to the obstacles created by period poverty and the associated stigma regarding menstrual hygiene, which frequently restrict women’s full participation in society.
She expressed her enthusiasm for the Mseve Girls and Women Empowerment Initiative’s goal to promote awareness, offer readily available menstrual hygiene products, and develop lasting solutions for communities. By encouraging cooperation among community leaders, government representatives, and international collaborators, she is confident that we can establish a nurturing atmosphere that empowers women and girls to succeed.
In addition to meeting urgent needs, the initiative’s founder hopes to bring about long-lasting change that supports women’s and girls’ rights. Her motivational remarks set the tone for the occasion, reminding everyone in attendance that awareness and group effort are the first steps toward change. When we work together, we can end the cycle of period poverty and enable all women to realize their greatest potential.
Exhibition of Work Done
An exhibition displaying our accomplishments over the years and our dedication to empowering women and girls in the neighborhood was also part of the event. Participants had the chance to learn more about the following programs:
1.Phase two of HPV Vaccination Implementation
By raising awareness and facilitating access to HPV vaccinations, this program seeks to lower the risk of cervical cancer in women and girls. We have successfully vaccinated hundreds of young women through community outreach and education, giving them the confidence to take control of their health.
2. The Outreach Initiative
The goal of our outreach campaign is to inform local communities about period poverty and menstrual hygiene. In order to give girls the tools they need to manage their menstrual health with dignity, we hold workshops and provide hygiene items. Numerous community centers and schools have been reached by this program, which has had a big impact.
3.Women support intervention on agriculture and SMEs
A recent women’s support intervention focused on agriculture and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) was organized by our organization. This initiative provided cash transfers to women in the local governments of Benue State, aimed at empowering individuals who plan to launch small businesses.
Each of these initiatives reflects our dedication to creating meaningful change in the lives of women and girls in Benue State, and the exhibition allowed us to celebrate these successes with our community partners and supporters.
Keynote Address
Our keynote speaker motivated us with some thought-provoking remarks and discussed the value of teamwork for improved community outcomes, eradicating poverty, and empowering women and girls.
Panel Discussion
During a stimulating conversation about period poverty and its effects on education, the environment, and health, experts in the domains of women’s health and development, education, and child development offered practical and long-lasting answers

Attendees connected with like-minded individuals and organizations, fostering collaborations that will amplify our efforts in the community. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about our work, what we do and connect with passionate individuals committed to driving the developmental world by creating the change we desire.
